What is NDT?

WHAT IS ASNT?

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing is more than just another professional organization. ASNT is a national technical society organized and operated exclusively for the purpose of advancing scientific, engineering, and technical knowledge in the field of nondestructive testing through education, research, and the compilation and dissemination of information useful to the individual and beneficial to the public. Our nondestructive testing (NDT) industry has several professional organizations which endeavor to represent members of our industry. But only ASNT is devoted solely to nondestructive testing.

The Bottom Line: What Does ASNT Do For You

ASNT gives all NDT personnel national representation in a growing industry; the inside track on the latest and most valuable publications, papers and advances in your profession; certification and training opportunities to advance your career; major national conferences; the opportunity to meet locally and informally with your peers; employment services; and discounted group programs. The bottom line is that by joining ASNT, you will be part of an organization, dedicated force and positive change for the NDT industry.

Who Should Belong to ASNT

ASNT is composed of men and women throughout the United States who are professional engineers, technicians, technologist, corporate executives, sales personnel, chemist, metallurgist, physicist, and university and technical school students. They represent every level of industry from research and design to manufacturer. They work in many industries where NDT plays a crucial role: automotive, aerospace, aircraft, casting and forging, chemical and petroleum, utilities, construction, electronics, marine, materials joining, metals, non-metals, nuclear, ordinance, and railroad.
